The basic system is suitable as a stand-alone unit on unattended weigh scales for vehicles. It consists of a SMART1 controller, a M2000 digital weight indicator, a magnet card reader and a printer. Magnet stripe cards (customized client cards or VISA/MasterCard credit cards) are used to identify a customer or truck. The system supports two weighing modes – axle weighing and gross weighing. To guide the truck through the weighing process, infrared sensors and a set of red/green traffic lights are used. An optional remote display that shows the weight or gives directions to the user may also be connected to the unit. At the end of the process, a ticket is printed and the transaction is stored inside the SMART1’s memory. The list of stored transactions can be accessed, printed and cleared by an operator after entering a password. The basic system can maintain a database of up to 200 customers and has memory capacity for up to 600 transactions.
